Transformer moisture absorber function

The main function of the transformer moisture absorber is to adsorb moisture from the air inside the transformer oil pillow, in order to maintain the insulation performance and quality of the transformer oil, as follows:

-Moisture prevention: During the operation of the transformer, the oil temperature will change, causing the oil level in the oil pillow to rise and 

fall accordingly. When the oil level drops, air will enter the oil sump. The desiccant (such as silica gel) in the dehumidifier can adsorb moisture

 from the air, preventing humid air from directly entering the transformer oil pillow and preventing the transformer oil from getting damp.

-Maintaining oil performance: Mixing moisture into transformer oil can reduce its insulation performance, accelerate oil aging, and may also 

cause faults such as partial discharge. Moisture absorbers help maintain the good performance of transformer oil and extend its service life 

by removing moisture from the air.

-Protection equipment: Dry air entering the transformer can reduce the erosion of moisture on the internal insulation materials, windings, and 

other components of the transformer, reduce the risk of equipment failure, and improve the reliability and safety of transformer operation.
