Transformer gasket

Transformer gasket is a key sealing component of transformers, mainly used for sealing interfaces such as oil tanks and bushings, preventing oil leakage and isolating moisture.

Core knowledge points:

Material characteristics: The mainstream materials used are nitrile rubber (NBR) with excellent oil resistance or acrylic rubber (AEM) with high temperature and aging resistance. They must have excellent elastic recovery, be able to maintain sealing under long-term pressure, and withstand chemical corrosion from transformer oil (mineral oil/synthetic ester).

Key Performance:

Oil resistance: Resists swelling and hardening after immersion in oil, ensuring dimensional stability.

High and low temperature resistance: The working temperature range is usually from -40 ℃ to over 100 ℃, suitable for operating heat generation and environmental changes.

Aging resistance: resistant to ozone and ultraviolet radiation, extending service life.

Flame retardancy: Some require flame retardancy levels such as UL94 V-0 to enhance safety.

Selection and application: The appropriate gasket material and size (such as O-ring, flat gasket) should be selected according to the transformer oil type, working temperature, pressure and other parameters. During installation, the contact surface should be cleaned and evenly tightened to avoid permanent deformation or cracking caused by excessive compression.
