The electrical laminated wood used in transformers (mostly made of birch veneer soaked in insulating resin and hot pressed) is the core structural material that combines insulation and support in oil immersed transformers. It is commonly used in components such as winding pressure plates, lead brackets, and iron yoke pads. Its specific functions are as follows:
1. Core function of electrical insulation
High electrical strength, forming a reliable insulation barrier in oil to prevent creepage and short circuit between winding iron core and lead clamp;
The dielectric constant is close to that of transformer oil, avoiding local electric field distortion and reducing the risk of oil gap breakdown;
Good vacuum drying and oil immersion performance, no bubbles inside, stable insulation under long-term oil temperature of 105 ℃, and no deterioration of oil quality.
2. Mechanical support and fixation
Winding upper and lower pressure plates/pressure rings: counteract the coil displacement and bulging caused by short-circuit electromagnetic force, and maintain the axial tightness of the winding;
Lead bracket and iron yoke pad: accurately locate the relative position of the lead, iron core, and winding to suppress vibration and noise;
High strength, resistant to deformation and cracking, lighter than steel plates and more rigid than pure cardboard, balancing structural stability and lightweight.
3. Technological and economic advantages
Easy to process (cutting, drilling, milling), suitable for non-standard structural components of different transformers;
Replace some epoxy glass cloth boards and steel plates, reduce the overall weight and material costs of the machine, and facilitate transportation and installation;
Highly compatible with transformer oil, it will not release harmful substances that affect the insulation and heat dissipation performance of the oil.
