Transformer tap changer

Transformer tap changer is the core voltage regulating device of transformers. It adjusts the effective turns ratio of windings by switching the tap positions on transformer windings, achieving precise output voltage regulation and ensuring stable operation of power grids and electrical equipment amid load fluctuations and grid voltage deviations. Widely used in power transmission & distribution, industrial power supply, renewable energy grid connection and other fields, it is classified into two main categories: De-Energized Tap Changer (DETC, off-load regulation) and On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC, live regulation).
