High Voltage Epoxy Resin Bushing for Power Transformer Insulation Systems

At present, the APG process is adopted for manufacturing thermosetting epoxy resin both domestically and internationally. APG is an abbreviated process originating from Germany, short for Automatic Pressure Gelation, also known as the epoxy resin automatic pressure gel forming process.
The first step of the APG process is vacuum degassing. All raw materials are blended evenly in a vacuum tank with a stirrer, while a vacuum pump evacuates air continuously during mixing. Another function of stirring is to bring entrapped air inside the liquid mixture to the surface for vacuum removal. The vacuum level reaches -1, and the entire vacuum mixing cycle lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Epoxy resin is not poured under vacuum. The mixture is fully processed via vacuum mixing to eliminate all trapped air bubbles. During production, compressed air is introduced into the sealed vacuum tank. Driven by air pressure, the epoxy mixture flows through pipelines into the mold cavity to completely fill the mold, followed by a curing holding period until full solidification.
