The core function of the transformer dehydrating breather (also known as a breather) is to adsorb moisture and impurities in the air entering the transformer oil conservator, preventing the transformer oil from being affected by moisture, thereby maintaining the insulating properties of the oil and ensuring the safe and stable operation of the transformer. 

Adsorption of moisture and impurities: The dehydrating breather is equipped with desiccants such as silica gel. When the temperature of the transformer oil changes, causing air exchange between the oil conservator and the outside, it filters and absorbs moisture and impurities in the air to prevent them from polluting the insulating oil.

Maintaining insulating properties: Moisture can reduce the insulating strength of transformer oil, causing internal discharge or short circuit; the dehydrating breather prevents such failures by keeping the oil dry.
