Gas Relay

The Gas Relay, also known as the Buchholz Relay, acts as the safety guard of oil‑immersed transformers. Installed between the main tank and the conservator, it monitors internal faults by detecting gas accumulation and oil flow. When minor faults occur, it sends an alarm signal. In case of severe short circuits or overheating, it quickly triggers a circuit breaker to cut off the power supply, preventing further damage to the transformer.
