The transformer tank

The transformer tank shell is a key structural component of oil-immersed transformers. It is usually welded with low-carbon steel plates, featuring high strength and good sealing performance. It houses the core, winding and insulating oil, providing protection against moisture, dust and external impact.

Equipped with cooling fins or corrugated structures, it helps dissipate heat efficiently. The tank must be leak-proof, pressure-resistant and reliably grounded for safety. Its surface is treated with anti-corrosion coating to support long-term outdoor operation.
