In terms of material, the core base material of epoxy resin bushing is epoxy resin, which is usually compounded with glass fiber reinforced material. Some high-end products will additionally add functional additives such as flame retardants and anti-aging agents. This composite material can give full play to the excellent insulating properties of epoxy resin and the high strength characteristics of glass fiber, balancing insulation and structural stability.

In terms of function, it mainly undertakes two core roles: first, insulation and isolation, which effectively isolates the high-voltage conductors inside the transformer from the external metal shell and surrounding environment, eliminating potential safety hazards such as leakage and short circuit; second, mechanical support and conductor lead-out, which stably supports the internal conductors and builds a safe channel for the conductors to be led out of the transformer, ensuring stable current transmission. In addition, high-quality products also have characteristics such as high and low temperature resistance, UV resistance, and aging resistance, adapting to different working conditions.

In terms of application, it is widely used in various transformers such as oil-immersed transformers and dry-type transformers. Different specifications of bushings are matched according to the voltage level of the transformer (from several hundred volts of low voltage to several hundred kilovolts of high voltage). For example, at the outlet terminal of a dry-type transformer, the bushing can work directly exposed to the air; in an oil-immersed transformer, it needs to adapt to the working condition of transformer oil to realize the isolation between oil and air and complete the conductor lead-out.
