Silicon steel
Silicon steel uses
core loss (iron loss) and
magnetic induction (flux density) as the guaranteed magnetic properties of the product.
Low iron loss in silicon steel can save a large amount of electric energy, extend the operating time of motors and transformers, and simplify cooling systems.
Power losses caused by silicon steel iron loss account for 2.5% to 4.5% of annual power generation, among which transformer iron loss accounts for about 50%, small motors of 1–100 kW about 30%, and fluorescent lamp ballasts about 15%.
